On a Pastoral Note: With Appreciation

Yellow Flower

This week a friend said “good bye” to us as she changes the way she (and we) relate and care for each other, in Christ.

Sonja Tappan has worked full time at the center of our church staff for seven years – the last four have been as our administrator for the church. She has been an incredibly energetic and hard worker, caring for the people and the ministries of the church.

Now that she has resigned we remember her time here with appreciation and pray all good things for her and her family in the many coming events of their life.

Ministry Opportunity: Driver Needed for 1 Hour/Week

Blue Car

Please consider helping New Horizons members get to/from their program and home.

We desperately need someone to drive two New Horizons members to and from fellowship on Thursdays. The members will need to be picked up from their local home and brought to FPCB between 9:40 – 10:00 a.m. and then returned home at 1:00 p.m. You are welcome to stay for lunch, but you are not required to stay.

Please consider this very meaningful ministry of transportation.

Investing in Your Church: 2014

BurlPresThe heart and soul of our church is commitment—first (of course) is Christ’s commitment to us, next is our commitment to Him, and then our commitment to each other and the world around us.

Financial commitment is a strong part of this now as in Bible times. Our church’s growing and impactful ministries need pledge commitment from all of us and so far we have received substantial total pledging for 2014 of $1,425,000. We are making this last and final plea before we cut ministry program and personnel—please pledge or increase your pledge if you can. Now is the time!

It is said that the Roman army was halted in its march to battle by a pebble in the shoe of one soldier. Let our church not be halted in our march to God’s glory on earth by the shortfall of $75,000 of pledge income for 2014!
