On a Pastoral Note: The Hand That Rocks the Cradle

Mother & DaughterMother’s Day reminds us that God calls us each to honor and give thanks for the mother who gave us birth.

Mothers at their best are meant to birth, nurture and guide their offspring, and the Apostle names the Church as our spiritual mother meant to instill God’s love within us and to grow us into full-fledged disciples in our own families, vocations, recreations, and community.

The poet was right: “The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world!” Thanks to God for mothers past, present, and future.
